6 Powerful Prayers For New Believers
Prayers that starts your new journey in Christ.
1. The Lords Prayer
Our Father who is in Heaven How great is your name Your Kingdom Come Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven Give us this day Our daily bread And forgive our debts As we forgive our debtors And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from the evil one For this earth is your kingdom and your glory Forever and ever amen.
About The Lords Prayers:
Once, Jesus was asked by his disciples how to pray. This is where we as believers get the Lords prayer from. This is the prayer Jesus told his disciples to pray. As a new believer you are now a disciple of Christ and it is important that you begin to align your life to the original plan and intent of God. One of the key lines in the prayer Jesus gave the disciples is "Thy kingdom come, Your will be done ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN." What does that mean? It means the Lord wants us to have in our current earthly lives, the same thing we already have in heaven. Meaning you don't have to wait to get to heaven to have the life He purposed for you to have. That is why it is important for you as a new believer to develop the Habit of prayer. Please take the next 40 days to develop the Habit of prayer. Pray the Lords Prayer every single day and find other prayers on this site to pray or pray whatever the Lord places on your heart. And watch how your life begins to look more joyful, more peaceful, more prosperous in every way. Here are 3 other powerful prayers to pray as a new believer.
2. Forgiveness Prayer
Lord, I forgive _____ by faith. My emotions have not yet caught up with my words but I lay my own will down to fulfill your will for my life and the only way that can be accomplished is through forgiveness. So please father heal the hurt that I still feel every time I think about this. I trust that you will give me beauty for ashes, the oil of Joy for the many tears I cried and the garment of praise for the anger and or depression that has become a stumbling block in my life. Your word says that all things work together for good, for those that love the lord and are called according to your plan. The proof that I love you and have been called by you, lye in the fact that I am saying this prayer. So I trust that even this evil that was done will work out for my good in the end.
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
About Forgiveness:
You must develop that habit of forgiveness as you develop the habit of prayer. Unforgiveness is one of the biggest hindrances to prayers. But not only does it hinder prayer but it actually will cause you to go to HELL!! plain and simple. God said if you don't forgive others of there sins against you, he will not forgive you of your many sins against him. Forgiveness is a CHOICE, not a feeling. So choose to forgive anyone who has hurt you. I call it forgiveness by faith. Confess and forgive with your mouth and one day your feelings will follow.
3. Loving God Prayer
Lord I come to you in prayer asking you to teach me how to love you with all my heart, all my mind, all my soul and all my strength. And as you command teach me how to love myself, so that I may love people as I love myself.
In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
About Loving God: In order to see your life change first your heart has to change. Learning to love God in the foundation of every good and great thing destined to happen in your life. Without loving God, you become like many other blind people who seek Gods hand to help them but not desiring his heart to give and receive love. Thus desiring the gift while disregarding the gift giver. The first command in the new testament is to love God with all your heart mind soul and strength. So this prayer is to help establish love for God and to open your heart to receive his love for you. The second of the greatest commandment given in the new testament is to love people as you love yourself. As you learn to love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, you will naturally begin to love other people and love yourself.
4. Mercy Prayer
Lord,
You said that when I judge another the same measure I use to judge will be measured back to me. So Lord teach me to have mercy on those who are not even asking for it. Teach me to have the mercy, the same way you did toward the people who were murdering you. I admit, there are some things that I consider pure evil and cannot fathom giving mercy in those situations. I admit that sometimes I judge others based on a poor choice they have made and other times I gossip about another person life and lead others to judge the one whom I am gossiping about. Father I desire to give mercy to others and not judge. So, father, I ask you to strengthen me and help to give mercy to people the same way you give me mercy every day.
In Jesus name, I pray,
Amen.
About Mercy:
Jesus tells us to go and learn what this means, " I desire mercy and not sacrifice." For some, the reason why your prayers are not being answered and there is so much pain in your life lye in your mouth or fingers tips. The "trending topic" of the day on social media and your "opinion" on the issue may have become a stumbling block. Please understand that the devil has built disobedience into our day to day life. Whether we are gossiping about a friend or family members on the phone, judging a celebrity on social media or yelling "crucify him" to a neighbor after watching a news story about a person who committed an unthinkable crime. Your words can and will be used against you by the devil. He can legitimately have authority to cause pain in your life because you have judged someone else. You may have judged a guy for committing a mass murder at a school, and yet overlook the fact that you have been committing mass murders with your mouth, through gossip and judgment daily on the cell phone. Remember God does not look at things like we do. Jesus once said to a man "if you even look at a woman with lust in your heart you have already committed adultery (which is a sin). " Now in our society today, we would say that unless the person has actually done the "ACT" it is not sinning. But this does not line up with the word of God. God does not see things as man see's things. He demonstrates this on the cross. When Jesus hung on the cross, being cursed out, beaten and spit on by the very people he was dying for, Jesus looked up to the Father in heaven and said, "Father forgive them, because they know not what they do". Jesus basically asked our Father God to have mercy on the people who were murdering him. He was, in essence, saying, "father please DON'T GIVE THEM WHAT THEY DESERVE". This is what I desire mercy and not sacrifice means. Many people are sacrificing for God but have not yet developed mercy in their heart for others and this has caused great confusion because they are looking at there "ACTS" but have not considered their "HEART". And because they are not giving mercy, they in turn are not receiving mercy.
5. Keep Us From Returning To Our Old Ways Prayer
Lord,
You are perfection wrapped in beauty. With thanksgiving today, I ask you, in the name of Jesus, to help us remember Lord. Continually labor for us to unblind our eyes and mind. Please Lord, continually unstop our deaf ears so that we may look intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continue in it, not forgetting what we heard but doing it in all seasons we are blessed with the breath of life. So that we may be blessed in what we do. And father please, create and retain in us a heart of mercy so that we may receive mercy for our blind spots.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
About Returning To Old Ways:
The word says in Proverbs 26:11 Like a dog that returns to his vomit. Is a fool that repeats his foolishness. The biggest trick of the enemy is to get you to return to bondage after you have been freed. The children of Israel in the bible desired to go back when things got tough. Don't go back, no matter what it looks like. Whether it looks to be a life or death situation or not, remain free at all cost! Please say this prayer with me to ask for heavenly help, so that you may become free and remain. This prayer is based on James 1:25 which says, "whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues in it-not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it, they will be blessed in what they do."
6. Trust And Believe God Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Mark 11:24 says that when we pray that we MUST believe that we have received it and as a result of our belief, we shall have that which we have prayed for. But father this is easier said than done. So father I am asking that you help me believe you. And not only that father, help me to trust you even when I can't trace you in my own understanding. Help me to stand strong in the promises of God without waiver or doubting (James 1:6). In my own strength this is impossible to do but this prayer is a deceleration of my trust in you. I declare that I trust you, I declare that I believe you, I declare my faith in you without doubt. I trust that you will help build a faith in me so strong that the gates of hell will not be able to prevail against my faith and my life. I declare you will build a knowledge in me so strong that death will not prevail against me and those connected to me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
About trusting and believing God:
The book of James in the Bible talks about the importance of believing the word of God. Without believing God, it is impossible to see any changes happen in your life. James 1:6: says "But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the seas, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not expect to receive anything from the Lord." Many believers fall into the cycle of believing the word of God for others but failing to believe the word of God for themselves. Or they believe God for one area of there life but fail to believe God in all areas of their life. The reason this happens is because it hurts to hope. It is much easier to throw up the white flag and surrender than it is to stand firm in faith. That is why it is important that you pray to trust and believe God. With God's help, you will become a general in the army of the lord believing to see the goodness of God in your own life and with patience standing strong and long enough to see your prayers come to past. God says that my people die due to lack of knowledge. Faith without Knowledge leaves you open to attacks rooted in deception. Asking God to give you knowledge will help you to overcome the strategies and schemes of the enemy.
Amen.
